Yes, but the formulary change may not affect you this year. Your Medicare Part D plan
is allowed to remove a prescription medication from their formulary when a lower costing generic equivalent is available or when a certain medication poses a health risk.
However, if your Medicare prescription drug plan just removes a formulary medication during the plan year that you are currently using - without providing you with a generic alternative - your Medicare Part D plan must provide you with coverage for that medication through the remainder of the plan year - at the same cost-sharing tier.
