I reached the Donut Hole in 2009 when enrolled in my Medicare Part D Prescription Drug Plan. Am I eligible for the $250 rebate recently announced by Medicare?

No. The $250 rebate is based only on your 2010 prescription medication expenditures. Your 2009 prescription costs do not count toward the $250 rebate.
If you enter the Coverage Gap sometime in 2010, you will automatically receive your $250 rebate check from Medicare.
Also, remember that you do not need to fill out any paperwork to receive your rebate.
Your Medicare Part D plan will notify Medicare when you enter the Coverage Gap (Donut Hole) and Medicare will automatically send you the check.
