Maybe. If you are enrolled in a 2010 Medicare Part D prescription drug plan (or a Medicare Advantage plan that offers prescription coverage (MA-PD)) AND NOT receiving any financial "Extra Help" from Social Security AND NOT enrolled in a qualified retiree prescription program
AND you reach the Coverage Gap (also known as the Donut Hole), you are eligible for the $250 Doughnut Hole Rebate.
You will not need to do anything, to receive the $250 - the rebate is sent automatically.
Please remember that the Donut Hole is the phase of your Medicare Part D coverage when you are responsible for 100% of your prescription drug costs.
The Donut Hole or Coverage Gap begins when the retail costs of your purchased medications reach $2,830.
If your retail prescription expenses are NOT over $2,830 OR if you
ARE receiving financial Extra Help (or Medicaid) OR if you are NOT enrolled in a Medicare prescription drug plan, you will NOT qualify for the
$250 rebate.
Otherwise, you will receive a check for $250 automatically from
Medicare after you enter the Coverage Gap.
