Help, I just tried to use my Medicare Part D plan and was charged full price for the cost of my medications. How is this possible?
If you are being charged full price for your medications when you use your Medicare Part D plan, there are a number of possible explanations.
(1) Member ID Card Problems - If you are new to a Medicare Part D plan, your Member ID card may not yet be active. Some Part D plans ask that the pharmacists call the Pharmacy Help desk if the Member ID card is not working. If your Medicare Part D Plan ID Card is not working it could also mean that your Part D coverage has been terminated for failure to pay your monthly premiums – but such problems usually do not arise until June or July after the Part D plan has made several attempts to reach you regarding the payment problems.
